Dr. Carol McCutcheon

Meet Dr. Carol McCutcheon

Dentistry is a wonderful profession. I have learned so much from the people I have met and worked with. I truly have some of the most interesting people as patients, and I’m fascinated with their knowledge, their friendliness, and their zest for life. As a dentist, I change lives for the better. Whether it’s a full-mouth reconstruction, or a child’s primary molar, if I can achieve a great result, the patient is happy and so am I. I’m particularly fulfilled when I’m able to help a patient work through the fear of seeing a dentist. When someone tells me I’ve made it easy for them to come to me for care, I can’t help but feel pleased.

Dr. Carol McCutcheon's Education

I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Washington. While that education provided me with an excellent foundation of knowledge, dentistry is constantly changing, both in technology and in the types of dental care. As our population ages, there are new concerns that must be addressed. We’re not making dentures for our senior population anymore, so we have to learn how to take care of “older” teeth. I love to learn and I love to teach. By pursuing continuing education (CE), I am constantly learning and therefore able to teach my patients so they will have optimal dental health. In California, I am required to complete 50 hours of CE every two years. I routinely exceed 150 hours every two years. I’m on the faculty club at the Spear Institute in Phoenix, AZ. I also attend three other study clubs in this area, in which other oral healthcare practitioners and I share cases and learn from each other. Additionally, I attend local, regional, and national dental meetings and seminars to stay abreast of the latest developments in the profession.
